Purchased and downloaded as MP3. I haven't listened to it all yet, but what I heard I really enjoyed. I hope this sells well for you.

Hi Spence, Thank you for purchasing the album. I hope it will be a great blessing to you. So far it is not selling very well. Not sure why, economy, or people don't care for it, puzzeling. Oh well, I was led to produce it and I did. My job is done and I'm OK with how the rest works itself out. If one person is blessed by it, then it was worth it. God Bless, Steven

I too am awaiting my purchase of both releases in CD and was thinking I will probably purchase more because they would make great gifts too. Have you thought of making a youtube of one of the songs for exposure Steven? Maybe your version of Amazing Grace, in that there are probably a lot of searches for this song? It could lead others to search for further songs of yours after they hear your version.
I did see that there is another guitarist with the same name as yours. He has a lot on youtube.

Hi Helen, I saw that you purchased both albums, thank you very much. Yes, I have considered doing a youtube video. Even bought a camera specifically for making the video. Glad you reminded me of the project and I like your idea of doing Amazing Grace. I am a business development manager by trade and you seem to have a good mind for sales. I have also seen the other Steven Padilla. He is a secular country, rock-a-billier. Too bad we both share the same name. Steven is my middle name and I would consider going back to Randy except everyone has just gotten used to the change(about 8 years now) and I would not want to put them through that again. Anyway, thanks for the support and enjoy the CDs. God Bless, Steven

Yeah! I got my CD’s today and I’m listening to them right now. Oh my…I LOVE these versions of Amazing Grace and Just a Closer Walk Steven. Is that Mike singing back up on Walk With Him? It sounds like you are doing some of your own back up. You know what I like about the song, Man On Fire? It’s a little bluesy, which lends to a subtle message of faith in the attitude; while asking the Lord for Him to do His work in us. Outstanding! I’m familiar with several of these songs and did not know the Lord Inspired you with them. I remember when you were first ministering Sheila H.'s songs in the early 80's. Were you writing any songs during that period of your ministry?
I think you ministered the song Remember Me for us at the Des Moines Fieldhouse back in ’07? You’re so right, a song of praise; mere words cannot express! I wore out Let Me Sing, Let Me Dance long ago. It’s so good to have a brand new copy of this album. Question. What did it entail to remaster LMS,LMD? Did you have to re-sing parts of the songs, or are they completely redone or is it just tweeking the sound quality. It really does have a very good quality to the sound. I am blessed and over-joyed!
I also appreciate you dedicating the Walk With Him CD to John Burger’s memory. Your site has a lot of good pictures of your family and your wedding. Is that Marty in the back of one of the wedding photos? He and I were good buddies since my first year of Bible College and he made me laugh a lot back then.

I was listening to my iPod in the car on my way home. I really enjoy listening to Mark Levin (talk show host). But since my ride was unusually long today, I was getting sleepy. So I thought, "Hey! I haven't finished listening to the whole 'Walk With Him' album". So I changed my iPod from Mark Levin to the new album and was I ever blessed. I woke right up and was singing along. I, too, really enjoyed the version of 'Amazing Grace'. I love that song. In fact, if truth be told, the older I get the more I like hymns. Deep truths in the words - but I digress. Thank you for the album and consider me blessed!

Spence and Helen, Thank you so much for your comments. I really needed to know that my work on the new album was not in vain. Consider me blessed as well.
Answers to Helen's questions: Mike is not singing on the album. We live so far apart and I have to stay close to home for Lynn so I did my own backup singing. Yes, I was writing during the early 80s. I wrote several songs on the new album during that time (A Song For You and Jesus My Worth Lies in You). I think we did minister "Remember Me" at that field house concert. Remastering entails tweaking the sound where appropriate and converting analog into digital signal. John Burger is my wife's father who passed away just after the first of year. Yes, that is Marty in the background. I'll tell him hello for you.
God Bless you guys. I'm so glad you like the music. Steven

Great Candy, let me know what you think. Did you ever get a copy of the remastered LMS, LMD album? I think you were asking about it in an email you sent me. Steven

Glad to hear it Candy. Its fun for me to listen to the LMS,LMD album. It brings back great memories of when I was recording those songs. We had such a nice studio at CCBTC. I worked with David and Keith and lots of musicians and had a great time. My voice was a little higher back then. When I sing the title track now at concerts I really have to strain to make that last high note. I usually say "not bad for 50 year old pipes, huh?" lol. Thanks for supporting my music ministry. I really appreciate it. God Bless, Steven

Well, high or low, I always enjoyed your singing--and what great words you put into your songs. They really made me strong.
I remember one day at church (at the chapel) when you sang "This world is not my home". I hadnt heard that oldie before but the whole congregation really rose to the occasion for singing along. What fun.
Since then I took the trouble to learn the words to that song, along with several other old timey christian songs like it. This has opened the door for me into friendship with a number of musicians here in spokane. I happened to first meet them at some parties. I went and sat with two of them in the corner and got them playing those old songs. Boy did we whoop it up. We have a huge bluegrass/old timey contingent over here and they really love to sing. So when I was able to lead the song, the doors of friendship swung wide. Pretty neat.
Every christmas, we have a christmas carol singing party, and these same bluegrassers and banjo players always come along to spice it up. Last christmas we got a totally rousing chorus of "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" going. It was truly beautiful--loud and full of harmonies. Those folks sing it in their "high lonesome sound" but I can see they are true believers.
Anyway, it all started for me when I heard you sing that song.
"Oh Lord, you know I have no friend like you..."

Candy, I haven't played that song(this world is not my home) in years. Glad you reminded me that I know it. I am in the initial process of starting an album of my favorite hymns. I will take my favorites and stylize them as I did with Amazing Grace and Just a Closer Walk on the new album. Should be a lot of fun. I am also working with Mike Voiers to record a new album for him. He liked what I did with "Walk With Him" and asked if I would record an album of his original songs. So that will be an interesting project. Thanks for the comments, I am enjoying this discussion string. Blessings, Steven

I am in the initial process of starting an album of my favorite hymns. I will take my favorites and stylize them as I did with Amazing Grace and Just a Closer Walk on the new album. Should be a lot of fun. Great! Keep us posted on that one. Did you grow up in a church that sang hymns? I did. I have always appreciated them, but these days I love them even more. This is because most of the "worship" songs I hear in church these days are so simple and inane, they seem to not understand the gospel. For this reason, I often revert to my old chapel music because the words are so rich and full of the knowledge of God. Hymns have this same gift--lots to chew on, lots to be encouraged by. I have favorites too. My number on favorites are: Love Divine, All Loves Excelling (truly every word of every verse is so edifying I cant even sing it without weeping) Fairest Lord Jesus Come Thou Font of Every Blessing All Hail the Power of Jesus Name How Firm a Foundation On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand A Mighty Fortress is our God Of course there are so many more. This is one of the main reasons why I attend my little (but growing) Anglican church. We sing songs like this all the time. I consider these songs like time bombs we place in our children's hearts. They are time bombs in our own hearts too. They often blow up with revelation and comfort long after we learned them. I have sung them to myself in times of severe trial. They taught me to lean heavily on Jesus--which is always a good idea.
