It's been a long and winding road but I have put the board to sleep as of this evening. It may be revised at some point in the future but I will no longer be involved  as the admin if it re-activates. I wish you all the very best in these uncertain times. Godspeed to all.

Hi Cleo. Carol used to frequent this board but hasn't for several years now. I am not sure how to contact her directly but you might poke around on Facebook if you have an account. Someone related to the Chapel may be able to get you in touch. I am not sure if this particular sing is copyrighted by anyone but Carol would know.

Unfortunately I am closing this board this evening so nobody will be able to respond to your inquiry afterwards. The board will remain online to search and for reference but no new members or posts will be accepted after this evening.

Indeed.  It is probably the hardest area to grow in because it is so contrary to the flesh, the world and the very order of things.  God help us all :-)

Hi Gordy,

Yes, indeed, things seem to be very slow here now.  The rise of Facebook has indeed been fascinating to observe.  I don't have much time now but I'll I'll try to look into hosting in the next month or so and see what I can find and then go from there regarding continuing the life/availability of the board.  Good to know about the update recommendations etc.  Thanks for all your efforts on this in the past.

Merry Christmas and blessings to you and your family!

This is a study that I recently did that I'm quite excited about (the subject that is not just the study)  Basically that our identity as believers is wrapped up in the identity of Christ and on this earth we are to be his body and an extension of him and to "grow up into him" etc.  I think that the devil has fought hard to shroud this subject in a number of ways.

This is a better representation of the study with the formatting:!1766&authkey=!AFprqqJKLi5JPmk&ithint=file%2cdocx

Below is a cut and paste of the text.

Blessings to all!

Establishing Our Identity

We know that there is a resurrection coming and an age to come in which the saints will be immortalized. Who are the saints in relation to Christ in this age before they are immortalized and put in authority?

Everything that we do in our lives flows out of our mind and mental state and how we perceive ourselves, God and others.

How we view ourselves and others has great implications in our lives and will determine our destinies because it eventually drives our behaviors. Prov 4:23, Prov 29:18

Who does God say that the saints are?

Eph 1:17-23 - The fullness of Christ himself

22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Matt 25:31-46 - Things done to us is being done to Christ himself.

2 Cor 5:16-21 - Christ's Ambassadors of reconciliation

1Cor 6:19-20 - A temple of the Holy Spirit

The Devil Attacks our Identity

The Devil is constantly attempting to distract us from our identity and the realities of Christ and growth in him. Therefore it is very important to seek understanding and to act on it. 2 Cor 4:4

There is a spiritual warfare for our minds and hearts and the Devil is always scheming. Eph 6:11-12

Various strategies: Confusion, Distraction, Discouragement, Depression, Condemnation, Sin, Worldliness... Anything to cloud the mind and to get the focus off of Christ and our calling in him.

Shrouding Doctrines: Total Depravity, Calvinism, Once Saved Always Saved, Trinity/Oneness, Baptism of Holy Spirit limited to a single event instead of a lifestyle, "Anointed Class", Ritual replacing Relationship, Cessationism, Justification by Faith Alone

What does God want us to do?

With this in mind then that we are a part of Christ here on earth, what can we do to make the most of this privilege and opportunity?

First and foremost we can rest in God's and Jesus' love and care toward us and in the fact that they are heavily invested in our success in our journeys and missions. Jesus himself is interceding for us at the right hand of God and nothing can separate us from the great love and care that is in them both. Rom 8:28-39

Secondly, we need to understand that this is a process that both we and God and Christ are participants in. It is not a one day journey or a one month journey or a one experience but we are to grow up "into Christ" by being God's workmanship. Here are some things that God wants from us in this age:

Have our minds renewed so that we can see clearly and have a vision for who we are. Rom 12:2

God wants us to do good works in accordance with us being grafted into Christ: Eph 2:10

Have Christ formed in us. Gal 3:19

Be transformed from glory to glory even into his image. 2 Cor 3:18

In light of seeing Christ at the resurrection, we purify ourselves to match him. 1 Jn 3:1-3

Hunger and thirst after righteousness. Matt 5:6

Do the things that Jesus did. John 14:12-14

Become mature in the knowledge of the Son of God. Eph 4:11-13

Remain attached to the vine in order to bear much fruit. Jn 15:1-4

Grow up into Christ in all things. Eph 4:15

Wash our robes. Rev 22:14

Make ourselves ready. Rev 19:7

Love one another. Jn 15:9-14

Fortunately Jesus promised to not leave us as orphans in this process but to come to us as a comforter/advocate and to be with us even to the end of the age. This is very good news. J

Jn 14:15-18, 1 Jn 2:1, Phil 1:19, Acts 16:7

Taking Action

Pray - Many times we underestimate prayer because we usually don't see results immediately. However, Jesus encourages us to continue asking, seeking and knocking and to never give up and to hunger and thirst in order to be filled. This implies a desperation to have something. Lk 18:1-8

Pray to have our minds enlightened that we could see ourselves as God does and parts of Christ/Messiah himself in the world. Pray that our minds will be completely renewed from worldly ways of thinking. Romans 12:2. Pray for wisdom. James 1:5

Repenting of Sin – We need to turn away from all known sins and ask God for His mercy and forgiveness and strength to walk differently and to overcome. Lk 11:4, 1Jn 1:9

Meditation - Contemplating and considering. In the Psalms, the writer meditates on the Book of the Law, God's unfailing law, precepts, decrees, promises and His wonderful works. Set aside time to meditate, discuss and contemplate these concepts and realities and they will come alive not just as intellectual concepts but as living realities. As we contemplate, pray and commit, we are changed and begin to match the likeness of the one whom we are contemplating and trying to emulate:

2 Cor 3:17-18

18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Obedience - Jesus and God will come to make their home with those who obey Jesus. John 14:23 It is those who obey Jesus who receive salvation Heb 5:9

Encourage Others to Do the Same: Jesus told us to go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey everything that he commanded them.Matt 28:19

Begin to act consciously as though we are parts of Christ Jesus and extensions of him. Behave as though he is the master. Ask ourselves about our thoughts, speech, actions and our time. How would Jesus think, talk, act and want us to spend our time?

Conclusion, Discussion and Prayer Eph 3:14-19

Hi everyone,

I just read all of my old posts and bookmarked them for some silly reason. They made me chuckle a bit.

Thanks so much for the little trip down the Chapel memory road and for your confrontations and especially for your kindness.

I am thankful to have had a venue to reminisce about the old days although in truth I wish that I had avoided CCBTC altogether, my life would have been so much better.

My brother started this board and told me about it many moons before I owned a computer. He is a pretty cool guy, always has been. We agree on oh, not much of anything. But David Kenady is my brother and yes thanks for the spell check I know how to spell my damned maiden name!

So farewell my friends. I hear the music of our past that we loved so much, the prophesies of what we was to be our destiny and I for one am so glad that it was not true.  Because now I have found LIFE and so much more abundantly. Not easy but it is MY life and I am thankful for it. Most of all I am thankful for the brains in my head and the creativity that I was born with. Chapel truly tried to squelch all of that and I wish that I had never walked in the doors of the old sanctuary and surrendered my young life. But I digress.

Gordy, Lanny, Helen, Mill, Robert, Joel and sorry if I forget anyone, Take care. See you on the flip side.

Your sister and I mean that,

By the way my password was Latterrain

Funny huh? I'm asking rain in the time of the latter rain. Let it fall Lord, let it fall.

It is hosted with Surpass actually but it can be moved anywhere pretty much.

There are a couple updates I would recommend. Update it to the 2.xx (not sure of the exact version) and the SQL version has to be updated to 5 or higher depending on host's server requirements.

I don't pay monthly fees as it is part of a package and just occupies some space. There are free hosting services out there but they will have advertising banners that pay for the service basically. The only real cost is the registration of the domain name annually which is dirt cheap. I think it's is good until August of next year. I can also have the domain name transferred to you when needed.

If you are interested to proceed, let me know. I may keep a copy of the board here and could put a link to wherever you set it up. If you keep the same domain name that wouldn't work but I am not adamant on keeping a copywhere it is now. I am closing it to new members and posts but it will be searchable, etc. as the old info is of more value than current participation and is the reason I was going to do that instead of just letting it go poof.

The Facebook versions, for lack of a better term, do not provide the same all in one place and easy to find features as this type of board but when Facebook started its cult like roll  Grin Grin and a lot more time flowed under the bridge it dropped the participation to near zip. That's fine with me. I have no fetish about the board but just wanted to make sure it ran its course to a logical conclusion. One thing I would hope is if anyone does keep it alive they do not apply heavy handed censorship as it would be self defeating, in my opinion.

Hope all is well with you and yours.

Having not participated for a long time, looks like I checked in at the ideal moment :-)

I agree.  It has been an interesting forum for discussion about diverse issues.  However I can see that presently there is a lack of "critical mass" of participation.  I'm thankful for all the admins who have spent their own time to provide the forum.

I'm not on Facebook so it interesting to check in from time to time to see what's being discussed.  Also, I would imagine that on Facebook, one has to be in the correct "circles" to be able to participate or to find the discussion and/or desired subject.

For these reasons I'm tempted to volunteer to continue to keep it running.  Not that I have much time to spare these days or time to post myself but I believe that there may still be some utility despite the currently low participation rate.  If for no other reason than for people to have a place where they can debate whether God is one, two, three or four for one last time ;-)

It looks like it is currently being hosted in the datacenter but there are no doubt many hosting companies that lease machines from there.  Are you paying for a service monthly, or are you using some kind of free hosting?

Many blessings to all!

Was the Big 5 the one where the incident occurred earlier this week?
